Tokheim ISO 14001 Successful Accreditation

Tokheim’s Dundee Manufacturing Centre (DMC) has attained the internationally recognised environmental management standard, ISO 14001. The certification process is a significant milestone within Tokheim DMCs continuing environmental strategy.”We successfully implemented all the ISO requirements and attained the prestigious 14001 standard within six months. This shows the huge commitment of everyone involved and their drive to succeed.” said John Harley, General Manager, Tokheim DMC.

The ISO 14001 standard demonstrates that Tokheim DMC has identified elements of business activities and processes that impact on the environment whilst working to comply with current environmental legislation. As part of the process Tokheim DMC produce objectives for improvement and a management programme to achieve them. This allows Tokheim DMC to critically evaluate how they work, and continue to work as a business whilst reducing their impact on the environment.

Harley says, “The management review and audit process ensures that employees can raise environmental issues and this reinforces to all our staff that we are committed to the standard and of course, continuous improvement. It is important for Tokheim DMC not just to meet our set targets and objectives but to exceed them. We also realise that maintaining the standard is just as important as receiving the initial accreditation.”
